Main Differences between Power Protection Technologies of UPS Systems

These are three varied forms of UPS topologies. These are Off-line UPS, Line-Interactive UPS and Online UPS. First type is the UPS with offline topology. The inverter is attached in parallel and works only to support utility power. There are four components in such a system. The first one is the battery that feeds power to the inverter and the second component naturally being the inverter. The inverter draws the DC voltage and converts it into the AC voltage needed for powering your device. The third element is the input surge protection for protecting the load from the damage caused as a result of the spikes and high-voltage surges. The last element of the Standby UPS system is the battery charges.
The mini CFL UPS or a standard UPS incorporated with the line-interactive topology has inverter attached in parallel and works to support utility power. It also executes the function of charging the battery. It interconnects with the utility power by means of its reversible operation in order to act upon to stabilize the voltage. It detects the condition of undervoltage or overvoltage, it also has the need of a transfer time for the inverter to switch on and power the load. It is different from the off-line UPS with regard to the fact that in the offline mode, it has active voltage regulation.
Online UPS provides double-conversion topology in which the inverter is attached in series between the load and AC input. The online UPS manufactured by a home UPS manufacturer has batteries, input surge protection, rectifier and inverter components. The function of the rectifier is to take the input voltage and transforms it form AC voltage that comes from the utility power to the DC voltage for supplying DC power to the inverter and for charging the battery.

Standby UPS as most affordable and efficient power supply solution

There are different types of UPS of which the Standby UPS system is the simplest and cheapest system. As a matter of fact, there are some people who do not regard this system as a UPS system but they instead regard it as a standby power supply unit. Sometimes, the Standby models are called as the offline UPS models to tell them apart them from online UPS models. The line power from the electricity grid serves as the primary source of power in this UPS, while the battery serves as the secondary source.
Standby sine wave UPS is the most basic type of UPS that makes use of line power as primary electricity source and battery as secondary source. It switches to secondary source when there is a power failure. When the electricity restores, the transfer switch converts to the primary source of line power.
Despite the fact that it is the least preferred type of UPS, a standby model is still a UPS and works great for most of the users. For an incredibly critical purpose, however, for instance a significant server, they are not usually used. The problem with it is that when there is a power outage, though it switches to the batter power speedily, but not immediately. This delay, though very rare, may disrupt the supply of power to the continuous equipment such as a PC, thereby leading to loss of data or in the worst cases, damage the equipment. But as this is not a normal thing, you can buy a standby sine wave UPS from one of the leading inverters manufacturers in India that meets your desired needs.

Typical Applications of Different Types of UPS Systems

In essence, UPS Systems can be categorized into three different types. These are the Standby systems, Line-Interactive systems and the Online systems. Let us discuss about them one by one. First is the Standby type that is the most basic type of the UPS models.  When there is a disruption in power, this UPS just makes use of the internal battery to supply power to the device. These are meant for the PCs, consumer electronics, POS/security systems, and other basic devices.
Secondly the Line-Interactive UPS models integrate technology that enables the model to fix the minor fluctuations in power such as over voltages, brownouts, etc. without resorting to the internal battery. These are designed for PCs, consumer electronics and mid-range servers.
The third ones are the Online systems that supply clean, stable and next to perfect 120V provide consistent, clean, and near perfect 120V power irrespective of whether there is power fluctuation or a total power failure. These systems work on isolated battery fed electricity 100% of the time and takes no time in switching to the battery. These models are ideal for the extremely sophisticated components, lab equipment, corporate servers, and other sensitive appliances.
It is no secret that the power grid supplies AC power that has a pure sine wave. Most of the digital CFL inverter manufacturers as well as the sine wave UPS manufacturers recognize that not all of the consumer electronic appliances need a pure sine wave signal to operate in a proper manner, so they offer a range of UPS models that generate a simulated sine wave. But if you want a UPS for the applications that demand pure sine wave, then you must go for the pure digital sinewave UPS systems.

Main Criteria for Getting an Inverter That Suits Your Needs

The frequent power cuts, especially during the summers, have spawned the increase in the demand for the inverters. Parents are more prominently tensed about the disruptions in the power supply when the examinations are going on as the studies of their wards get significantly affected due to these disruptions. While you have decided to buy an inverter for your household, it is important that you buy it according to your power back up needs, that is, the number of appliances to be powered. Your budget also plays a major role behind the size and voltage output of the inverter that you decide upon.
Many people are of the opinion that they do not need an inverter in their home as they can meet their backup needs in the event of the power interruptions by means of a high capacity UPS that they have purchased from a home UPS manufacturer, but this is not the case.
Now after you have understood what you need, you must make the right choice and also must maintain it in the right manner. For this, various aspects are ought to be taken note of. The inverter must be energy efficient with cost-effective power consumption from the electricity grid. You must also make sure that it comes with the powerful battery.
After you have purchased a suitable inverter from one of the inverter manufacturers, you must take care that the battery of the equipment demands regular maintenance and only distilled water must be utilized for enhancing its working life. So now you do not have to be worried about your work remaining pending due to power cut as you can still operate the appliances you need with the inverter.

Classification of UPS on Basis of Waveforms Produced

Let us discuss more about these different types of waveform produced by UPS models. The lower-end power equipments usually generate Square waves and, as per the basic truth, put more pressure on the attached electrical device. As compared to the sine wave of a similar total power output, the peak voltage of this type of output is low and these can also include hazardous high frequency harmonics that are not present in the true sine wave. The appliances that are connected to the square wave UPS systems may undergo functioning problems, also involving heat build-up, and probable premature failure. The only major advantage to the buyer of such systems will get considerable cost savings. But these tend to reduce the longevity of the equipments.
On the other hand are the high-end sine wave home UPS that produce true sine wave which is the perfect wave form for enhancing the performance of the electrical devices and the longevity of the devices and is basically the form that households receive from the utility power providers. Electrical energy efficiently varies between negative and positive, letting the appliance run without any unwarranted stress at a steady voltage with hardly any high frequency harmonics. The processes used for generating this wave from may be either AC-DC-AC conversion process or automatic voltage regulation process. Between these two systems, the UPS system supplied by the dependable home ups manufacturers is the one with the modified square wave or simulated sine wave that are comparatively cheaper than the true sine wave ones and provide quality power output. So those having an issue with the cost but can’t compromise on quality can go for the modified square wave UPS models.

Get Constant Power Supply during a Day by Using Inverter Along With Generator

Power inverters play the major function of converting DC of the battery to AC of 120 volt for powering most of the home appliances without there being the need for switching on a generator. It may be so that you do not have any idea about DC appliances or AC appliances. In addition to the DC and AC appliances, the inverters are beneficial for even the generator power systems. One is able to power the clothes washer, shop equipments and water pump by means of a generator, while charging a large battery bank that lasts for several hours in a day in a small span of time. This way when only a few watts are necessary for operating the lights, TV, etc., the digital CFL inverter is sufficient to feed this much amount of batter without the need for the generator. As a result, power is constantly available throughout the day just at a click of finger, whereas a generator can only run for a limited number of hours in a day that too with significant savings on the generator maintenance expenses.
When you are planning to buy an inverter you surely need to put light on the type of inverter you will get from one among the leading power inverters manufacturers. Modified sine wave models produce a modified square form of wave that is inferior in comparison to the power company electricity. They are cheaper and power almost all the appliances, though may be damaging to some heavy appliances such as printers, photocopy machines, etc. and also make a lot of noise.  On the other hand, pure form of sine wave is generated by the pure sine wave models that is of superior quality and can power all types of appliances in an efficient manner.

CFL UPS Providing Cost Efficient and Low Capacity Power Utility

UPS or inverter is a new age powering system that is installed with a set of batteries to provide uninterrupted power supply.  This is a unit that is shock proof and capable of handling voltage fluctuations. In India, power failure and voltage fluctuation are the two problems that are faced by a common man. Dealing with such situations has become nearly impossible. During summers, the problem of power cuts raises drastically. Due to heavy electricity usage, transformer failure and load shedding have become quite common. In case of long duration power cuts, the situation becomes worse. The entire household work comes to a standstill. Women cannot perform their chores in time which also affect the school going children and working people. To tackle with this problem, power unit manufacturers have come up with advanced technology inverters. From CFL UPS to other high capacity inverters and UPS can be obtained in markets these days. These inverters are also introduced at most competitive prices, so that everyone can install them. These inverters are obtained in different sizes as well.
Various models of powering systems are introduced in markets. Both high and low capacity inverters are offered by every home UPS manufacture. The power requirements of every household depend on its member count. Therefore; low capacity inverters can be obtained by small families whereas; high capacity inverters can be obtained by large families.
